A lot is changing in the private insurance market and the relationship between the doctor and their patient is being undermined. Tell me about your experience with your medical insurance policy.

Have taken your hub abroad or on holiday?
What did you think of the system and the service I provided?
Is it something you would recommend?
Could there be improvements?

I have teaching sessions in Ealing outpatients and open access ECHO lists.
If you have been to one and enjoyed it, or even learned something new, I would be interested in your feedback.

I have had several hits this week related to telemedicine in Scotland. If those who are searching and found my site have any questions, I am keen to help and advise. There is recent interest in telemedicine due to the changing demographics in the population, with increasing incidence and prevalanceof heart failure. Over 10% of thse over 80 years are affected and long term conditions like this lend themselves to the remote management of their condition. See my testimonials.

Today I had a GCSE student from Cardinal Wiseman School attending my ECHO clinic. This gave the student the opportunity to learn how we work in hospital outpatient departments. I was interested to learn that the school had given little guidance to the possible career opportunities in medicine and allied professional careers. I hope that the time spent will be useful and the school will benefit from feedback.

Catherine Bowe has written a follow-up testimonial on her experience of atrial fibrillation and return to sinus rhythm post cardioversion in 2008. Warfarinsation life long is an important part of her treatment as return to atrial fibrillation can lead to an embolic stroke if the blood is not anticoagulated.

Patients with heart disease need identifying and family and social history are a starting point. I hope my website will be helpful. Telemedicine is transforming my practice as a cardiologist as I can get access to vital information about a patient's condition and advise on treatment changes.
